One of the best food of Bangladesh is "KHICHURI"

Yes. Khichuri, Yammy... said one of my friends who live in New york city, named Laura. She came our city & stayed 2 months here with me. She ate many Bangladeshi food. She loved all. But specially, loved this dish very much.

Here is the Khichuri recipe,

Ingredients:

1. Rice - 1 kg
2. Lentil (Moshurer Dal) - 1/2 kg

. Onion diced- 1/2 cup
4. Chili - 5 to 6

5. Bay leaves - 2 pieces
6. Cardamon - 2 to 3
7. Cinnamon - 2
8. Turmeric Powder - 1 Tsp.

9. Ginger Paste - 1 Tsp.

10. Garlic Paste - 1 Tsp.

11. Oil - 1 Tsp.

12. Salt - depends on
taste
13. Water - 3 kg


Process:


Wash rice and Dal together in a bowl & keep them soaked for 30 - 40 min.


Put Oil in the pan. Then put Onion & Chili in the pan stir until golden brown.Then put the drained rice & lentil (Moshurer Dal) in that pan & again stir.Then put Turmeric, Ginger, Garlic paste and Salt. Also put the Bay leaves, Cardamon, Cinnamon & then stir.

After 6 to 8 min. give the 3 lit. water & covered the pan. Increase your cooker heat until the water starts to boil. It will take f
ew min. When water is decreasing then decrease your cooker heat. After some time you get the smell of Kichuri which you can serve.

Cut onion and chilli slicely and mix it with some oil and salt. Its called "Jhal Chatni".
The khichuri is ready to eat with "Jhal Chatni". Eat it hot.

Its so simple but so tasty.
